Installation
Download the Web Client
The Vector Risk web client is a Microsoft click-once self-downloading application hosted on the cloud. To download it you should use either the Chrome or Edge browser. First you must enable click-once support in your browser.
If using Edge you can go to the url “edge://flags” and enable ClickOnce support.
If using Chrome you need to enable click-once support with an extension, for example the meta4 extension:
https://secure.ice/?https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/meta4-clickonce-launcher/jkncabbipkgbconhaajbapbhokpbgkdc
Now download the GUI from the link below that corresponds to the region your organisation is being hosted in.
Sydney: https://gui.au.vectorrisk.com/Client_WPF_Form.application
Singapore: https://vectorrisk.blob.core.windows.net/public/client/Client_WPF_Form.application
Zurich: https://gui.ch.vectorrisk.com/Client_WPF_Form.application
You will be supplied with a user name and initial password for the service. Populate these fields and your Organisation will appear in the Organisation drop down. Levels that you have been assigned access to (eg Production, UAT or Test) will appear in the Level drop down.
Once the application has been run the first time, you can use the URL below as an alternative to the direct links above:
https://vectorrisk.blob.core.windows.net/public/client/launcher.htm?tag=Vector
Each time you run the client it will do a version check and will update itself from time to time.
Server Side (on the Cloud)
As part of your subscription an environment is created for your organisation. In a standard installation the name of the environment will match the organisation short name. This environment includes a set of load and calculation tasks ready to go out of the box. You don't need to worry about any of the setup, hardware or storage issues.
Environment Levels
Your environment will actually be created at three levels (production, staging and test).
The staging environment is a copy of production. This copy process occurs each Sunday, so any modifications to staging are wiped away on a weekly basis. Staging can be used by an organisation to test changes to it's production process (eg adding new calculations or portfolios) before actually deploying to production.
The test environment sits on its own database and is designed for loading up test data. It is here that an organisation can investigate trade mapping, pricing and simulation outcomes with controlled examples that may be maintained on the system indefinitely.
Multiple Environments
Larger organisations may wish to create multiple environments named after user groups whose data and analyses need to be kept separate from one another.
Rate Sources
One of the considerations when setting up your organisation will be the source of rates. Your choices are described in the section Rate Sources in the user guide.
Users and Permissions
An organisation has the ability to allocate its own users and permissions. For more information see the section Manage Users.
